Admissions Rise 11.61% At Main Attractions
The number of tourists visiting Lanzarote´s main visitor attractions, such as the Timanfaya National Park and the Jameos del Agua, rose by 11.61% last month. As the island welcomed an influx of additional visitors displaced by the recent upheaval in the Middle East.
Admissions at Lanzarote´s Centres of Art, Culture and Tourism rose by 11.61% last month versus February 2010 figures. As a total of 194,709 tourists went sightseeing and visited key attractions such as the Timanfaya National Park, the Cactus Garden and the Cueva de los Verdes.
Admissions for February were also up by 15.69% versus the previous month. Suggesting that the islands main visitor attractions have benefited from the recent influx of tourists displaced by recent upheaval in Middle East tourist destinations such as Egypt and Tunisia.
The Timanfaya National Park remains the island's number one attraction, with 65,819 people choosing to visit the Montañas del Fuego during the course of their holidays in Lanzarote. A figure that is up by 9% versus February 2010. Followed by the Jameos del Agua, with 48,139 visitors passing through its doors last month.
