Arrecife Tourist Market Expands

The Arrecife Tourist Market, held every Saturday morning, is to be extended from its current location around the church of San Gines into Calle José Antonio, giving it a much stronger presence in the heart of the capital.

Calle José Antonio is one of the busiest shopping streets in Arrecife, with numerous bars, restaurants, patisseries and clothes shops along its length. Now many of the fresh fruit and veg stalls will extend from the Plaza de Las Palmas, at one end of Calle José Antonio, with various handicraft vendors, selling ceramics, lace and textiles, also being relocated to this zone.

The donkey rides for young children will also now use this new route through the town, whilst numerous Disney characters will also parade along the street with balloons and flowers to provide further entertainment for smaller visitors. In addition, the bouncy castle will also be moved to the new location.

This extension of the market will be introduced this coming weekend 7th May, in time to coincide with Mother´s Day on Sunday and will continue for the foreseeable future.
