The iconic Ironman contest will be pounding through the streets of Arrecife, Lanzarote´s capital city, for the first time on May 20th.

The annual Ironman triathlon is now entering its 26th year and has become synonymous with sports tourism on the island, providing local tourist authorities with a powerful promotional platform. In order to further enhance it´s status and reach, this year´s event course will encompass parts of the island´s capital city, Arrecife, with entrants competing in and around the emblematic El Charco area for the first time ever.

In addition, an all new Ironman Lanzarote Fair will also be staged close to the finishing line in Puerto del Carmen, featuring numerous stands, all helping to further promote the island as one of Europe´s foremost sporting destinations.
