Welcome to our Holiday Planning pages - which are designed to help you get the most out of your next break here on Lanzarote.
What's the weather going to be like?
That's the primary concern of most visitors to the island - and rightly so - as a week or two of sunshine is the ideal antidote to life in the UK and Eire, especially during the winter months.
As a rule Lanzarote enjoys good weather whatever the time of year - making it possible to enjoy a beach break even during the depths of December. But just like every other destination on the planet the island can still endure grey days, cold spells and even rain.....although rainfall on the island is very low thanks to its location close to the Sahara Desert.
During the summer months, from May to October, you can pretty much count on sunshine all day long and little to no rainfall.
During the winter the weather becomes more unstable - although for the vast majority of the time the sun still shines pretty unfailingly.
Which are the best months to visit? It´s hard to beat sitting on a beach in December or January when everyone back home is shivering. But many locals will say that you can't beat September and October - when the heat of summer has dissipated a little, there´s not much in the way of wind and the sea's as calm and flat as a plate.
