Arrecife airport is the sole airport on Lanzarote, providing both international and inter-island services and operating with the flight code of ACE.
General Airport Information
Lanzarote Airport is located between Arrecife and the main tourist resort of Puerto del Carmen on the island of Lanzarote. Because of its popularity with holiday makers, this airport serves frequent scheduled and chartered flights from destinations all over Europe, as well as internal flights connecting Lanzarote Airport to the other islands within the Archipelago.
The main changeover day for the tourist resorts here is Thursday, which makes the airport especially busy, although there are now many flights on other days throughout the week.

Lanzarote airport now has two terminals. Terminal one services international flights and is on two floors with Departures being on the Upper floor and Arrivals on the lower floor.
The new terminal for national and inter-island flights has now been opened in the old terminal building, which has been totally refurbished.
This has improved facilities even more, in what is an exceptional airport facility.
Lanzarote Airport Facilities
The facilities are as you would expect from a major international airport and are of a good standard as the present terminal building has only recently been constructed.
There are a variety of cafes, restaurants and fast-food outlets with internal and outdoor seating areas.
Shopping and Money
There are a range of shopping outlets, which include a newsagents, florist and shops selling jewellery, clothes and local products. They are all located once you have checked in.
There is no bureau de change but there are a number of Cash Machines (ATMs) located around the Airport.
Disabled facilities at Lanzarote Airport, include ramps, wheelchair accessible doors and toilets. There are also special areas outside the departures and arrivals halls where disabled passengers can be dropped-off or collected. Airlines can provide passengers with wheelchairs if necessary. Designated car parking spaces are also available for disabled passengers.
An information desk is located on the departures floor (tel: +34 928 846 001). Airport staff in green jackets are available to assist travellers.
Lanzarote Airport Transportation
As Lanzarote is a tourist island, there are a plentiful supply of taxis at the airport, waiting taxis can be found outside the arrivals hall on the lower floor.
The standard of Taxis is generally very high, with most being kept scrupulously clean by the drivers who apparently carry a bucket and leather with them, to clean the taxi at every opportunity.
It is worth noting though that queues for taxis do build up during peak holiday periods and on busy transfer days such as Thursdays.
You can find up to date taxi pricing for transfers to the main resorts by visiting our Lanzarote taxis webpage. It is also possible to book a transfer direct online.
Lanzarote Airport Car Hire
There are a good number of hire car operators situated at Lanzarote Airport, whose desks may be found in the Arrivals hall. In order to speed your transition through the airport it is advisable to pre-book your hire car, especially in the peak holiday season.
Our Lanzarote Car Hire pages give details of companies with whom you can pre-book a hire car (online) to collect at Lanzarote Airport.
There are no direct shuttle bus services between the airport and the main resorts. It is possible to take a local bus from the airport to the capital of Arrecife and find connecting buses there. But this is a time consuming business and one best tackled if you have a reasonable grasp of Spanish.
Visit our Lanzarote buses page to view more information and timetables.
As a result the quickest and most effective way of reaching your accommodation is to take a taxi from the airport (available outside the main arrival hall) or to book car hire or a transfer prior to arrival.
